Collaborative Divorce Coaches & Child Specialists

In collaborative cases, licensed mental health professionals serve as “Divorce Coaches.” The coaches help couples to communicate effectively before and during meetings; regulate their emotions; rehearse how to approach difficult topics; and navigate this significant life change. Divorce Coaches do not provide therapy. Our PCD mental health professionals are also skilled co-parenting specialists who work to improve parenting communication going forward, and help couples design a parenting plan.

A single, neutral child specialist may be selected to support children who are in the middle of their parents’ emotional distress and/or dispute. The child specialist serves as the voice of the children, and ensures that the children’s well-being, concerns and needs are in the forefront of divorce decisions.
